Matthew "Matt" Harris is a 15-year law enforcement veteran, canine master trainer, and SWAT team leader. A former U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Officer, Matt currently oversees the Gaston County Fugitive Apprehension Suspect Tracking team.
With extensive operational, instructional, and leadership experience, Matt brings a highly specialized skill set to Specter Defense Group and contributes to the development and delivery of advanced training programs for law enforcement, schools, and community partners.

Matt is a Sergeant and canine handler for the Gaston County Police Department. He is a certified Master Trainer and evaluates police canines nationwide. Matt oversees the GCPD Canine Unit and plays a key role in countywide tracking and apprehension operations.
SWAT
Currently, Matt serves as the Special Operations lead canine handler and Assistant Team Leader for the Emergency Response Team. He is a certified Master Breacher, responsible for training all breaching capabilities - including manual, mechanical, ballistic, thermal, hydraulic, and explosive techniques.

Matt previously served as a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, conducting federal fugitive apprehension operations in partnership with federal agents. He also supervises the county's Fugitive Apprehension Suspect Tracking Team, providing oversight and coordination for complex multi-agency tracking and apprehension missions.
